Riondo’s Ristorante is located in the Hutchings-Sealy building in the historical Strand district in downtown Galveston.  Built in 1895, this building used to host one of the first banks and insurance buildings in Texas.  Riondo’s can host private parties that range from 16 – 150 people.   Riondo’s opened on July 22, 2014 and since has achieved many awards.  Voted “Best New Restaurant 2015” by Galveston Daily News, Voted “#2 Italian Cuisine” , Voted “#3 Best Wine List”, Voted “#5 Most Romantic” and Voted “#5 Special Occasion” in all of Houston and its surrounding areas by Open Table.  Owners Don McClaugherty and Chef Rico Caminos pride themselves on offering their guests unmatched professional service, an amazing ambience, “Farm to Fork & Sea to Table” style cuisine and the freshest pasta, mozzarella and artisan bread Galveston and Houston has to offer.

PRIVATE DINING VENUES

The Vault Room: 

Designed for parties up to 20 people.  Semi-private room located in main dining room and has hosted stars such as Tony Bennett, Riley Salmon (Gold Medalist in Indoor Volleyball), Michael Ballard of Full Throttle Saloon and Uncle Kracker.  The room hosts two Bank doors from the early 1900’s and can be closed off by the private curtains. There is no room charge for the Vault Room but it is first come first serve.  Please note that Audio and Video are not allowed in the Vault Room. 

The George P. Mitchell Room:

Designed for parties up to 80 people for sit down dining or up to 150 people for heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The George P. Mitchell Room consists of 2 private areas.  Picture this:  You enter up these 100+ year slate steps and into a room that hosts a private bar and gathering area for your guests.  Then, when its time to dine, youopen these 12 foot doors into another private dining area that overlooks the Strand District with wall to wall windows looking towards the South and West of Galveston Island.  With approximately 2,500 feetof rentable space, this private dining area is perfect for your next special event.

DECORATIONS & SIGNAGE

Table decorations: We provide complimentary fresh cut flowers in a small vase, votive candles throughout the venue, gold chargers, burlap runners and background music.  We are happy to suggest a variety of vendors to assist you with your needs.  All decorations brought into Riondo’s must beapproved in advanced by your catering representative.  You must remove the decorations immediately following the event unless otherwise arranged.  Please note: Riondo’swill not assume any responsibility for damaged or lost articles left in the restaurant prior to, during or following the function.

BILLING AND DEPOSITS     

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required when booking your event (this will hold the space for you and will be applied to the total bill); a payment schedule for the balance due can be arranged.  All taxes and service charges are in addition to the menu prices quoted. Tax exempt organizations must provide a certificate prior to the event.  Direct billing is available but not encouraged. There is a minimum charge established for each room but that can be discussed upon your reservation.

We have 3 packages you can choose from:  Silver, Gold or Platinum package.  These packages are based on approximately 50 guests.  The catering director, Don McClaugherty will work personally with each of you as he realizes that sometimes there are exceptions to the packages.
